At less than a year old, the jet had primarily been operating transatlantic services to the US East Coast, alongside select European routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flight tracking data shows the aircraft has remained on the ground at <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Dublin\">Dublin Airport<\/a> since December 13. Aer Lingus currently operates five A321XLRs, with a total commitment for six aircraft, making each unit strategically important to network planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The A321XLR in Aer Lingus configuration seats up to 184 passengers across two cabins. With a published range of up to 4,700 nautical miles, the aircraft allows the airline to operate long-haul routes that were previously uneconomical with widebody aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aer Lingus introduced the type on routes such as Indianapolis and Nashville, later expanding to cities including Boston, New York, and Washington, with Pittsburgh planned next.
