LAS VEGAS-<\/strong> Hilo has regained a direct air link to the U.S. mainland after more than three years, marking a notable shift in Hawaii\u2019s aviation landscape. Southwest Airlines (WN)<\/a> has announced a new nonstop route connecting Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) with Hilo International Airport (ITO) on the Big Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new service restores mainland access for eastern Hawaii, which lost nonstop connectivity in early 2023. The route positions Las Vegas as a renewed gateway for Hilo while expanding Southwest\u2019s growing transpacific network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southwest’s New Hilo Nonstop<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Southwest will launch nonstop flights between Las Vegas and Hilo on August 6. The airline plans to operate the route three times per week from the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights will depart Las Vegas at 9:30 a.m. and arrive in Hilo at 12:35 p.m. local time. Return services will leave Hilo at 8:45 p.m. and land in Las Vegas at 5:10 a.m. the following day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
