DOHA-<\/strong> Qatar Airways (QR)<\/a> has announced the appointment of Hamad Ali Al-Khater as Group Chief Executive Officer, effective 7 December 2025. He succeeds Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hamad Ali Al-Khater joins Qatar Airways Group from Hamad International Airport, Doha (DOH), where he served as Chief Operating Officer (COO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In that role, he oversaw airport safety, operational reliability, infrastructure expansion, and long-term strategic planning, while driving consistent improvements in passenger experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His appointment reflects the Group\u2019s focus on operational discipline, network reliability, and sustainable growth. Al-Khater\u2019s experience at one of the world\u2019s leading airports positions him to align airline operations closely with hub performance and capacity planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining Hamad International Airport, Al-Khater held senior leadership roles at QatarEnergy. His work there focused on business development, complex deal execution, and the delivery of large-scale strategic and operational initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
