The new rate represents an additional 390 baht per traveler and will apply to all passengers departing <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Thailand\">Thailand<\/a> from early 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials expect the revised charge to be formally approved after Airports of Thailand completes additional consultations with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the approval is finalized, the updated charge will become effective about four months later. With the new rate, the increase in airport tax is projected to generate around 10 billion baht in additional revenue every year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The funds will support major upgrade projects, including the expansion of Suvarnabhumi Airport with the construction of a new South Passenger Terminal, which is intended to improve capacity and reduce congestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Airports has also approved increases to service charges for airports under its management.
