NEW DELHI- <\/strong>India<\/a> has approved a major five-year sustainment and upgrade package for its fleet of Sikorsky MH-60R naval warfare helicopters. The package, valued at Rs80 billion ($959 million), aims to ensure high availability of the MH-60R fleet and strengthen the Indian Navy\u2019s anti-submarine and multi-mission capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that a letter of offer and acceptance was signed with the United States government under the Foreign Military Sales programme, marking one of India\u2019s most significant rotorcraft support deals in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian Navy Fleet Sustainment Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

US FMS Package Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The deal follows the framework earlier detailed by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency, which included advanced systems such as forward-looking infrared sensors, external fuel tanks and 30 units of the Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Joint Tactical Radio System. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This secure, jam-resistant communication suite enhances data-sharing across naval assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unspecified munitions, maintenance support and spare parts are also included in the FMS structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
