HONOLULU-<\/strong> A woman who assaulted her daughter onboard Hawaiian Airlines (HA)<\/a> during a 5-hour flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Honolulu (HNL) has avoided prison despite facing charges that could have led to a 20-year sentence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case concluded with probation and minimal restitution, raising renewed attention toward cabin safety and disruptive passenger intervention during commercial flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woman Assaulted Daughter on Hawaiian Airlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred on November 4 last year aboard Hawaiian Airlines flight HA9<\/strong>. Witnesses later told investigators they saw Samantha Ann Davis kick her young daughter and strike the child\u2019s head against the cabin wall in the darkened cabin of the Airbus A330<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The passenger shouting eventually alerted the crew to the disturbance. A flight attendant later said she feared a \u201criot\u201d would break out as the situation grew increasingly chaotic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the captain\u2019s instructions, the crew relocated Samantha to another seat and restrained her while an off-duty police officer guarded her for roughly three hours until landing in Honolulu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once on the ground, law enforcement took her into custody, and several witnesses provided detailed statements supporting the allegations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
