DELHI-<\/strong> Tata Group-owned Air India (AI)<\/a> is preparing a major upgrade for premium travelers as it plans to open a new Maharaja Lounge at Delhi Airport (DEL). The project aligns with the airline\u2019s broader push to improve in-flight and on-ground services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lounge expansion comes as Air India updates its global network and enhances its menus, with the new Delhi Airport (DEL) facility joining a growing list of refreshed premium spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India New Maharaja Lounge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Air India is developing a new Maharaja Lounge inside Terminal 3, designed for first class and business class passengers, along with eligible Maharaja Club members. Reports indicate the lounge is scheduled for a December 2025 opening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline already operates a Maharaja Lounge at Bengaluru Airport, and the Delhi<\/a> addition reflects Air India\u2019s renewed focus on a consistent premium experience across major hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline is also planning a dedicated domestic lounge for Terminal 3. This facility is expected in the second half of 2026 and is part of a wider plan to build a refreshed global lounge network across Bengaluru, Delhi, New York, and San Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leadership has confirmed that these lounges aim to support a modern, elevated ground experience matching recent improvements in aircraft interiors and in-flight service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International Lounge Network Upgrades<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Air India is progressing with upgrades to its international lounges as well. Work is underway at John F. Kennedy Airport<\/a> in New York, with completion targeted for March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction is also active at the San Francisco International Airport, expected to finish by February 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These lounges are planned to serve premium travelers with quiet zones, improved service design, and expanded comfort amenities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Existing Lounge Experience in Bengaluru<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Bengaluru Airport<\/a> lounge in Terminal 2 is already open and serves as a model for the coming network. It features quiet work areas, strong Wi-Fi, power outlets, shower facilities, free dining options, and responsive staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The layout aims to give travelers a calm space to work or relax with consistent service standards and a comfortable environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India is upgrading its in-flight food and beverage program across international routes. A refreshed domestic menu is scheduled for early 2026. These improvements are part of a broader service redesign intended to offer a more refined and reliable onboard experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
