CALIFORNIA-<\/strong> Southwest Airlines (WN)<\/a> has announced a major expansion across the West Coast, introducing five new routes and boosting key frequencies for the summer 2026 schedule. The update includes additional links to Hawaii and expanded service across major Pacific Northwest markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move will strengthen the carrier\u2019s presence at several airports in Southern California, giving travelers more nonstop options and improving access to Honolulu\u2019s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southwest Airlines Adds 5 New Routes to Honolulu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Southwest confirmed two all-new nonstop routes from Ontario International Airport (ONT)<\/a> and Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) to Honolulu. The ONT\u2013HNL service begins June 4, 2025, with daily operations, providing suburban Los Angeles travelers a direct alternative to larger hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BUR\u2013HNL route follows on August 4, 2025, and will operate on peak travel days. These additions expand Southwest\u2019s Hawaii network to 10 nonstop routes between HNL and the U.S. mainland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond its Hawaii push, Southwest will introduce new flights from Long Beach Airport (LGB)<\/a> to Portland International Airport (PDX) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both routes launch on August 4 and will operate six times weekly, supporting demand for travel between California and the Pacific Northwest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
