GURUGRAM-<\/strong> Tata Group-owned Air India (AI)<\/a> is in the middle of a large-scale upgrade, and its long-haul Boeing 787-8 aircraft are now getting their first full cabin refresh. The carrier is replacing its older layout with a modern business class suite, introduced as part of its broader post-privatisation overhaul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first refurbished jet is expected to enter service in February 2026, marking a major upgrade for passengers flying through major hubs like Delhi Airport (DEL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India New 787 Business Class Suites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Air India has begun installing the Adient Ascent business class seat on its Boeing 787-8<\/a> fleet, signalling a clear shift toward a more competitive premium experience. Reported by OMAAT<\/a>, the airline has moved from a 2-2-2 layout to a 1-2-1 configuration, finally offering direct aisle access for every passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new configuration includes 20 suites arranged across five rows. Each seat features a privacy door, a fully flat bed, and updated controls designed specifically for the Boeing 787 platform. The aircraft will also gain improved entertainment systems and onboard Wi-Fi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
