MADRID-<\/strong> Iberia (IB)<\/a> will launch a daily service between Madrid and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) starting March 29, 2026. The new route adds to its existing double daily operation to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), strengthening the airline\u2019s presence in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move gives travelers three daily options to the New York region while improving access to Manhattan through Newark. It expands capacity on the Madrid\u2013New York corridor and supports rising demand between Spain and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iberia plans to boost its New York<\/a> capacity by more than 350,000 seats during the 2026 summer season. This represents a 42 percent increase over 2025 and reflects continued growth in one of the busiest transatlantic markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newark offers a strategic alternative for both business and leisure customers due to its proximity to Manhattan and its connectivity advantages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the addition of Newark, Iberia strengthens its position in a highly competitive corridor and enhances its multi-airport strategy across the New York metropolitan area. The new flights will operate daily as IB327 from Madrid to Newark and IB328 on the return, using the Airbus A321XLR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iberia currently serves ten destinations in the United States and will offer close to 2 million seats in 2025. Its winter schedule includes double daily flights to New York (JFK) and Miami (MIA), up to two daily services to Boston (BOS)<\/a> and San Juan (SJU), and expanded year-round service to Washington (IAD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline also flies daily to Chicago (ORD), and multiple weekly frequencies to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Orlando (MCO), Los Angeles (LAX), and San Francisco (SFO) during the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This network is reinforced through the North Atlantic joint business with American Airlines (AA), British Airways (BA), and Finnair (AY), providing coordinated schedules and access to over 400 destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight Plan 2030 and New Long Haul Routes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Newark launch aligns with Iberia\u2019s Flight Plan 2030, an investment program focused on fleet renewal, digital services, and network expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline intends to grow from 48 to 70 long-haul aircraft and add several new destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent openings include Orlando (MCO) with four weekly flights. Upcoming additions include Recife (REC) on December 13, Fortaleza (FOR) on January 19, Monterrey (MTY) on June 2, and Toronto (YYZ) on June 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
