COLOGNE-<\/strong> Eurowings (EW)<\/a>, the Lufthansa Group’s low-cost carrier, launches its first dedicated business class seat on narrow-body aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new \u201cPremium Biz\u201d product starts commercial service on Saturday, November 22, 2025, on nonstop flights from Berlin Brandenburg (BER) to Dubai International (DXB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike traditional European business class that blocks the middle seat in standard economy rows, Premium Biz offers visibly larger and more adjustable seats for a separate surcharge starting at \u20ac399.99 one-way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eurowings New Premium Business Seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Technicians completed installation of the new Geven seats on the first two Airbus A320neos<\/a> on Friday, November 21, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The front 2 rows now contain 8 seats in a 2-2 layout. Each seat provides significantly more space, deeper recline, adjustable leg rests, and footrests operated by two push buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional features include tablet holders, USB charging ports, individual cocktail tables, and improved privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In-flight entertainment screens are not installed, keeping the product positioned below long-haul business class but well above classic BIZclass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first aircraft operates the BER-DXB route daily. The second aircraft serves as backup and flies various short and medium-haul routes, where passengers may receive the Premium Biz seat at no extra charge if substituted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six-Month Record<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Eurowings made the final decision in February 2025. Reported by Aero Telegraph<\/a>, Chief Technology Officer Matthias Gruber called the timeline remarkable: \u201cAbout half a year is truly impressive for a project like this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The biggest challenge was: could we get it done with the supplier within this short timeframe?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project required rapid regulatory approvals, seat specification, cabin layout changes, and supplier coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bookings for the Premium Biz seat upgrade opened in August 2025 and remain available exclusively on their official website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head of Product and Marketing Clemens Strauss explained that passenger feedback on existing business-class offerings clearly requested more comfort on longer medium-haul routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If commercial performance and satisfaction meet expectations, Eurowings plans to extend Premium Biz to additional aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future Outlook<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A decision on equipping the 40 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, due to enter the fleet at the end of 2027, will be made in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a September 2025 interview with Aero Telegraph, CEO Jens Bischof confirmed the airline continues to evaluate orders for further 737 Max jets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The swift introduction of Premium Biz positions Eurowings as the first German carrier to offer true reclining business class seats on narrow-body medium-haul flights, setting a new standard for the Lufthansa Group\u2019s value segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
