SINGAPORE\u2014<\/strong> One of the World’s best carriers, Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a>, is expanding capacity on its Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)<\/a>\u2013Taipei Taoyuan Airport (TPE) route as demand for Taiwan travel continues to grow. The airline has confirmed that its seasonal frequency boost, originally designed for the February\u2013March peak, will now run for four consecutive months in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier typically offers twice-daily Boeing 787-10 services on this sector. With travel patterns shifting and load factors remaining strong, Singapore Airlines is extending these additional flights well into the Northern Summer 2026 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines Boosts Taipei Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines will raise frequencies to 18 weekly flights from 2 February to 31 May 2026. This expanded period nearly doubles the initially scheduled coverage and includes the deployment of higher-capacity Airbus A350 Medium Haul aircraft on select days, Mainly Miles<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The earlier plan intended to end the seasonal uplift on 28 March, but operational adjustments allow the continuation through late spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During February and March, the additional SQ872 and SQ873 rotations will operate four times weekly using the 303-seat A350 Medium Haul jets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 29 March to 31 May, these extra services will continue on revised operating days and transition to Boeing 787-10 aircraft, supporting consistent availability and improved connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1 June 2026, the route will revert to its standard twice-daily schedule as Taiwan enters the rainy and typhoon seasons, traditionally slower periods for tourism. Singapore Airlines\u2019 decisions reflect a data-driven approach that adjusts capacity in line with seasonal fluctuations and market trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preliminary scheduling for winter 2026\/27 suggests that even further enhancements may be introduced. Early filings show an intention to add similar extra flights in December 2026 using Airbus A350 Medium Haul aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early 2027, the airline is considering larger 337-seat Boeing 787-10 jets for the February\u2013March period, which would result in the highest seat count on this route in several years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
