MUMBAI-<\/strong> IndiGo Airlines (6E)<\/a> has opened a new nonstop link between Delhi (DEL) and Manchester (MAN), expanding its long-haul footprint and adding capacity between India and the UK. The move builds on the airline\u2019s earlier Mumbai to Manchester launch and signals a steady shift toward wider international operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service introduces 5x weekly flights using Boeing 787-9 aircraft<\/a>, allowing IndiGo (6E) to offer a long-haul product from Delhi (DEL) to a major UK gateway at Manchester (MAN). The route strengthens travel flows for business, tourism, and visiting friends and relatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo Adds Delhi to Manchester Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Delhi to Manchester link places IndiGo on a key intercontinental corridor that has been underserved for decades. It is the first time in 25 years that the market has access to a nonstop option, with Air India last operating the route in 2000, Simple Flying<\/a> flagged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the gap, demand remained strong, with nearly 60,000 round-trip passengers between the two cities in the 12 months ending September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new flights operate on a 338-seat Boeing 787-9 in a two-class layout. IndiGo uses wide-body aircraft on damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways, which has been shifting away from scheduled operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cabin includes 56 IndiGoStretch seats and 282 Economy seats<\/strong>, offering extended comfort on what is now IndiGo\u2019s longest route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because the airline cannot transit Pakistan’s airspace, the flight requires a longer routing. This adds time and fuel burn and reduces competitiveness against one-stop options through the Gulf or Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even so, the nonstop value proposition is clear for passengers seeking direct travel between Northern India and Northern England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
