Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a> will now continue its non-stop service to Barcelona (BCN)<\/strong> through February 2026, revising earlier plans to suspend the route entirely for a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The updated schedule confirms one weekly direct flight during this period, ensuring continued connectivity between Singapore and Spain despite wider capacity cuts across SIA\u2019s European network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airlines to Continue Barcelona Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In its latest network update, Singapore Airlines reversed part of its earlier decision to suspend all non-stop flights between Singapore (SIN)<\/strong> and Barcelona (BCN)<\/a> in February 2026. Instead, the carrier will operate one weekly non-stop flight during the four weeks from\u00a0February 9 to March 8,\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally, both of SIA\u2019s twice-weekly direct services were to be paused, with the gap covered by extending the daily Singapore\u2013Milan (MXP)<\/strong> route to Barcelona five times per week. That plan has now been scaled back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only three weekly Barcelona flights via Milan will continue, alongside one non-stop service \u2014 reducing total Singapore\u2013Barcelona frequencies from five to four per week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While this adjustment still represents a capacity reduction, it maintains Singapore Airlines\u2019 only non-stop connection to Spain on a year-round basis. The direct flight shaves approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes<\/strong> off the travel time compared to the Milan stopover, MainlyMiles<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schedule Overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From 27 October 2025 to 8 February 2026<\/strong>, Singapore Airlines will operate its regular twice-weekly non-stop SQ388\/SQ387<\/strong> service on Mondays and Fridays<\/strong> using the Airbus A350 Long Haul<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the revised February schedule (9 February\u20138 March 2026<\/strong>), only the Friday<\/strong> non-stop service will operate, while the Monday<\/strong> flight remains suspended. The normal two-weekly pattern resumes from 9 March 2026<\/strong>, continuing through the rest of the winter season and into summer 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summer schedule also retains the usual twice-weekly non-stop frequency, increasing temporarily to five weekly flights<\/strong> between late June and early September 2026<\/strong> to meet peak demand. During this period, the Barcelona via Milan flights will pause, removing SIA\u2019s short-haul Milan\u2013Barcelona fifth-freedom<\/strong> service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milan Operations Remain Steady<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Daily Singapore\u2013Milan (MXP)<\/a> services remain largely unaffected by these schedule shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SIA will continue to operate a mix of direct and Barcelona-tagged flights, adjusting frequencies where necessary to maintain network balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the winter season, the Singapore\u2013Barcelona via Milan<\/strong> service operates three times weekly using SQ378\/SQ377<\/strong>, complementing SIA\u2019s direct Milan terminator flights SQ356<\/strong> and SQ355<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KrisFlyer Award Rates and Upcoming Changes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For travelers booking award tickets, the KrisFlyer<\/strong> redemption rates on the Singapore\u2013Barcelona<\/strong> route remain the same until 31 October 2025<\/strong> \u2014 starting at 42,000 miles for Economy Saver<\/strong> and 103,500 miles for Business Saver<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1 November 2025<\/strong>, Singapore Airlines will implement a KrisFlyer devaluation<\/strong>, increasing rates across all cabins. Business Saver awards on this route will rise to 108,500 miles<\/strong>, while Business Advantage jumps to 141,500 miles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, only Advantage awards are immediately available on the newly reinstated non-stop days, but the mileage difference between current Advantage and future Saver levels is relatively small, making early bookings worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other European Routes Face Cuts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While Barcelona retains one weekly direct flight, other SIA routes in Europe are seeing more significant reductions this winter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
