BANGKOK- <\/strong>Thailand is expecting another record-breaking year for arrivals from the US, with forecasts pointing to over 1.1 million American tourists by the end of 2025. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) projects that the number could reach nearly 1.2 million in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tourism boom is supported by the return of United Airlines (UA)<\/a> to Bangkok (BKK) after an 11-year hiatus. This renewed service marks a significant milestone in trans-Pacific travel, reflecting strong demand among American visitors seeking leisure and cultural experiences in Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangkok’s Boost from New Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The expansion of flight services between the United States and Thailand has been one of the key factors behind this growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Airlines recently reintroduced its Bangkok service through its UA820 route connecting Los Angeles (LAX) to Bangkok via Hong Kong (HKG). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operated by a 257-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the flight runs daily and caters to both business and leisure travelers, reported The Bangkok Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route marks the carrier\u2019s return to the Thai market after discontinuing its Narita\u2013Bangkok connection in 2014. United Airlines has expressed confidence in the Asia-Pacific market, now serving more than 32 cities across the region \u2014 more than any other US airline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thailand welcomed 1.03 million American visitors in 2024, generating 58.8 billion baht in tourism revenue. This year, the number is expected to rise by 8%, reaching 1.1 million tourists and generating more than 62 billion baht. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Tourism Ministry, American visitors stay an average of 12 days and spend around 4,726 baht per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said that the US market remains one of Thailand\u2019s most valuable, especially among premium travelers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that the country\u2019s recent exposure through the third season of the popular TV series The White Lotus<\/em> has also boosted interest in Thai destinations. The agency aims to sustain at least an 8% annual growth rate through 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several Asian carriers, such as EVA Air, have expanded connections to American cities, including Dallas, Texas, further strengthening accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, new long-haul services are increasing Thailand\u2019s visibility in the global travel market. Norse Atlantic Airways has launched five new routes from the UK, Sweden, and Norway to Thailand this winter season, offering more choices for transatlantic travelers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
