This makes IndiGo the first Indian carrier to reinstate direct connectivity between the two countries.

The route will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft, enhancing travel convenience for business and leisure passengers, while also supporting growing trade and cargo demand between eastern India and southern China.

Guangzhou (CAN), a major commercial and export hub in southern China, plays a vital role in global manufacturing and logistics.

The new Kolkata–Guangzhou route strengthens air connectivity for business travelers, exporters, and professionals operating between the two nations. The service supports India’s expanding trade relations with China, particularly in sectors like electronics, textiles, and industrial goods.

IndiGo’s addition of this route follows rising passenger and freight demand across the Indo-China corridor. By connecting Kolkata (CCU), an important gateway to eastern India, with Guangzhou, the airline facilitates quicker movement of goods and people—boosting both economies.

The carrier plans to expand further in this segment with the launch of daily Delhi (DEL)–Guangzhou (CAN) flights starting November 10, 2025. This expansion reflects IndiGo’s broader strategy to strengthen its international presence in key business markets across Asia.

According to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers, the new service reinstates one of the most essential air corridors for India-China relations. He noted that direct air access between these two commercial centers will benefit exporters, professionals, and investors, while promoting tourism, education, and healthcare exchanges.

Elbers emphasized that this initiative aligns with IndiGo’s goal of expanding India’s global connectivity network, positioning the airline as a key enabler of bilateral growth and mobility.

Photo: By Anna Zvereva from Tallinn, Estonia – IndiGo, VT-IZX, Airbus A320-271N, CC BY-SA 2.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=87337917

Flight Schedule: Kolkata–Guangzhou Route

Sector

Flight No.

Days of Operation

Departure

Arrival

Kolkata (CCU) – Guangzhou (CAN)

6E 1703

Daily

22:00

04:05 (+1)

Guangzhou (CAN) – Kolkata (CCU)

6E 1704

Daily

05:35

07:50

All timings are local.
