LONDON\u2013<\/strong> Abra Group has reinforced its long-term fleet expansion strategy to strengthen air connectivity across the Americas and Europe with a new Airbus<\/a> order. The company is adding new aircraft to enhance both efficiency and passenger experience across its network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UK-based aviation group, which oversees Avianca (AV)<\/strong> and Gol Linhas A\u00e9reas (G3)<\/strong>, confirmed agreements for new widebody and narrowbody aircraft, including the Airbus A330neo<\/strong> and A320neo<\/strong>, to support growth and modernization efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus Gets Order from Abra Group<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To improve its long-haul operations, Abra Group signed agreements for up to seven Airbus A330neo aircraft<\/a>. These aircraft will be deployed flexibly across the Group\u2019s airlines based on market and financial conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A330neo combines next-generation fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact, using 14% less fuel per seat than the A330ceo. Its modern Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines also cut airport noise pollution by up to 60%, aligning with global sustainability targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This addition strengthens Abra\u2019s presence on key intercontinental routes, particularly between Latin America and Europe, by providing airlines like Avianca (AV)<\/a> and Gol (G3) with adaptable widebody capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move supports the Group\u2019s strategy to deliver more consistent and competitive long-haul operations while enhancing passenger comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strengthening Narrowbody Capacity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyond widebody growth, Abra Group expanded its narrowbody portfolio with a significant Airbus A320neo order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company exercised 50 purchase options, bringing its total A320neo commitments to 138 aircraft for delivery by 2032. This complements Abra\u2019s 96 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft<\/a> already on order, resulting in a future narrowbody fleet of 234 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first A320neo with the Airbus Airspace cabin will join Avianca\u2019s (AV)<\/strong> fleet by late 2025. These aircraft will introduce larger XL overhead bins with 60% more storage, dynamic LED lighting for each flight phase, and three rows of custom-designed Premium seats by Recaro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This upgrade enhances the passenger experience while maintaining high fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategic Vision and Industry Collaboration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra Group, emphasized that the fleet expansion reinforces the company\u2019s commitment to improving access to air travel across Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the incremental A320neo order meets the needs for both fleet replacement and growth, supporting Abra\u2019s ambition to connect the region internally and with the rest of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beno\u00eet de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry, Executive Vice President of Sales at Airbus Commercial Aircraft, highlighted Abra\u2019s selection of Airbus models \u2014 the A350, A330neo, and A320neo \u2014 as a strong endorsement of the manufacturer\u2019s performance and efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A330neo, in particular, complements Abra\u2019s existing A330 operations, while the Airspace cabin on Avianca\u2019s upcoming A320neo promises a new level of passenger comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A330neo lease and A320neo options build on Abra\u2019s earlier 2024 order for five Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Together, these additions position the Group for sustainable expansion across its portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abra Group consolidates Avianca (AV)<\/strong> of Colombia, Gol Linhas A\u00e9reas (G3)<\/strong> of Brazil, and strategic investments in Wamos Air (PLM)<\/strong> and Sky Airline Chile (H2)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
