KUALA LUMPUR-<\/strong> AirAsia (AK)<\/a>, the Malaysian low-cost airline led by Tony Fernandes, is once again making headlines \u2014 this time for the CEO\u2019s open support of cabin crew taking power naps at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fernandes, who transformed AirAsia (AK) from a struggling government airline into one of Asia\u2019s most successful budget carriers, says short naps prove how hard his employees work, especially after years of post-pandemic recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tony Fernandes Backs Cabin Crew Power Naps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a recent Instagram post, AirAsia\u2019s Group CEO Tony Fernandes praised a cabin crew member he found napping inside the airline\u2019s Kuala Lumpur headquarters (KUL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of reprimanding the employee, Fernandes called it \u201ca tough job being a Cabin Crew\u201d and said he encourages staff to rest when tired. According to PYOK<\/a>, the executive even highlighted that AirAsia\u2019s offices are equipped with multiple sleep pods for employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fernandes wrote that the photo of the sleeping staffer, shared with permission, symbolized dedication rather than laziness. \u201cPeople don\u2019t realize how tough it is,\u201d he said. \u201cI encourage my all-stars to take a nap if they are tired.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
