Austin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta Air Lines (DL) is accelerating its expansion in Austin (AUS), positioning the city as a key focus city with plans for 150 daily flights, 20\u201330 gates, two lounges, and a staff increase to 2,700\u20132,800 by 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/viewfromthewing.com\/emotionally-bruise-american-deltas-plan-to-fly-austin-miami-leaks\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">View from the Wing<\/a>, Delta\u2019s new Austin-Miami (MIA) route, launching November 22, 2025, on a <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/boeing-737-800\/\">Boeing 737-800<\/a>, directly challenges American Airlines (AA) in its Miami hub while supporting Delta\u2019s joint venture with LATAM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Austin-Miami route, Delta\u2019s 30th destination from AUS, operates daily and connects two strong non-hub markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It competes with American\u2019s three peak daily flights, Southwest\u2019s five weekly services, and <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/frontier-airlines\/\">Frontier Airlines\u2019 (F9)<\/a> three weekly flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta\u2019s broader 2025\u20132026 expansion includes new routes to Denver (DEN) on November 9, 2025 (Airbus A319), Columbus (CMH) and Kansas City (MCI) in November 2025, plus increased flights to Indianapolis (IND, three daily by June 7, 2026) and San Francisco (SFO, twice daily from April 13, 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These routes leverage Austin\u2019s demand for leisure and business travel, particularly to Latin America via Miami\u2019s LATAM Club<\/a> will debut in the concourse, with a temporary lounge converting to a Delta One lounge by 2031.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new flight attendant base opens in October 2025, supporting a tenfold staff increase from current levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Delta\u2019s 10-year lease (January 2026-September 2035) secures its anchor tenant status, vying for 20-30 gates against Southwest\u2019s planned 200+
