ATLANTA\u2013<\/strong> Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> has expanded its streamlined baggage transfer program for international arrivals, now including flights from Seoul\u2019s Incheon International Airport (ICN) to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers on Delta and Korean Air (KE) flights from Seoul to Atlanta will no longer need to collect and recheck their luggage before connecting to a domestic flight, saving an estimated 25 minutes during layovers. While travelers must still clear security, their checked bags will transfer directly to their next flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Adds Baggage Transfer for ICN-ATL Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Until now, U.S.-bound passengers typically faced several steps after landing: clearing passport control, retrieving checked baggage, rechecking it, and going through security again before reaching their connecting gate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The revised procedure for Seoul\u2013Atlanta arrivals removes the baggage recheck step. Bags are now automatically transferred to the connecting aircraft, similar to a domestic connection. This change is possible through a partnership between South Korean airport security and the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Security officers at ICN send TSA agents X-ray images of passengers\u2019 checked baggage while the aircraft is en route to the U.S. TSA reviews these images during the flight, making a second baggage screening unnecessary upon arrival, TPG<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Growing Network of One-Stop Security<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Delta\u2019s one-stop baggage transfer policy already applies to passengers arriving in Atlanta from London Heathrow Airport (LHR)<\/a> and to travelers on American Airlines (AA)<\/a> connecting at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) after flights from LHR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
