NEW DELHI-<\/strong> Tata Group-owned Air India (AI)<\/a> flight from Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) to Delhi (DEL) was diverted to Chennai (MAA) on August 10, 2025, due to a suspected technical issue and adverse weather along the route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Airbus aircraft, operating as AI 2455, landed safely in Chennai at approximately 10:35 PM after departing Thiruvananthapuram shortly after 8:00 PM. Air India confirmed that technical inspections are underway and passenger support is being provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Flight Diverts to Chennai<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Air India flight AI 2455 crew made the decision to divert as a precaution when a possible technical snag was detected during the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, unfavorable weather conditions in the planned airspace increased operational risk, prompting the landing at Chennai Airport (MAA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon arrival, the aircraft was taken out of service for detailed inspections. Air India stated that its ground staff in Chennai assisted passengers with refreshments, communication, and rebooking options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Efforts are being made to transport all affected passengers to Delhi (DEL)<\/a> or other final destinations as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
