New hires would have seen their hourly rate rise from $28.88 to $36.92, while the most senior attendants could have earned up to $84.78 per hour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/17\/united-keeps-561-million-for-flight-attendants-bonus\/\">United allocated $561 million in Q2 to fund a one-time \u201cretro bonus\u201d<\/a> averaging $21,500 per flight attendant, with senior members eligible for more than $50,000. The payment was designed to cover the years without raises but required ratification of the agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When voting closed in July, 92% of eligible members participated, and 71% rejected the deal. The union has since launched a survey to identify key sticking points, but any new proposal must be scheduled through the federal mediator\u2019s availability, slowing the process considerably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Negotiations are set to resume December 9\u201312, 2025, in <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Chicago\">Chicago<\/a>, followed by additional sessions in January, February, and March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rejected deal, valued at $6 billion over five years, is unlikely to increase in total value. However, union officials have signaled they had hoped to finalize the first deal without a repeat round of talks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With other major U.S. carriers, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/tag\/american-airlines\/\">American Airlines (AA)<\/a>, having already secured agreements, the timing leaves United\u2019s crew in a more challenging position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even during the Biden administration, strike threats were rarely acted upon in the airline industry.
