Trains from the Palmerston North\u2013Gisborne line, part of New Zealand\u2019s national rail network, pass through the airport multiple times a day, requiring coordination with arriving and departing flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air New Zealand (NZ)<\/a>, the main airline serving this airport, operates over 60 domestic flights weekly. The airport handles an annual passenger volume of approximately 150,000, making it a modest yet significant regional transport node.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rail line connects to nearby Muriwai and was historically vital for freight, though it now primarily sees infrequent services and heritage runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
