The average Passenger Load Factors (PLF) during this period were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Malaysia Airlines (MH)<\/strong>: 85.79%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Batik Air Malaysia (OD)<\/strong>: 84.27%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>AirAsia Malaysia (AK)<\/strong>: 77.22%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite a solid PLF, Batik Air struggled with yields\u2014revenue earned per passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline attempted to supplement local traffic with onward connections to cities like <strong>Bali (DPS)<\/strong>, <strong>Jakarta (CGK)<\/strong>, and <strong>Melbourne (MEL)<\/strong>. However, transit passenger uptake was insufficient to justify continued operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In August 2024, <strong>Malaysia Airlines (MH)<\/strong> increased its frequency on the KUL\u2013ATQ route to daily Boeing 737 operations. Stronger connectivity to <strong>Australia and New Zealand<\/strong>, particularly <strong>Auckland (AKL)<\/strong>, made it a more viable choice for long-haul and connecting travelers. Meanwhile, fare pressure intensified.
