BRUSSELS\u2014<\/strong> The European Union (EU) is moving forward with phasing out traditional passport stamps for foreign visitors, replacing them with a digital biometric system. This major shift will begin rolling out on October 12, 2025<\/strong>, impacting travelers entering the Schengen Area (SCH)<\/strong> via air, sea, and land borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EU’s Entry\/Exit System (EES)<\/strong> aims to streamline border checks for non-EU nationals at major airports like Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) <\/a>and Frankfurt Airport (FRA)<\/a>. Visitors will undergo fingerprinting and facial recognition scans instead of receiving manual passport stamps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
