Kennedy International Airport (JFK), and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=FAA\">Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)<\/a> issued ground stops for major airports, including Newark Liberty (EWR), Baltimore\/Washington (BWI), and Dallas\u2013Fort Worth (DFW), citing dangerous weather conditions. Travelers are advised to check each airline\u2019s waiver policy online or through their mobile app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-are-your-rights-if-your-flight-is-canceled\">What Are Your Rights If Your Flight Is Canceled?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If a flight is <strong>canceled for any reason<\/strong>, passengers are entitled to a <strong>full refund<\/strong> if they opt not to travel. In cases of <strong>controllable disruptions<\/strong>\u2014such as mechanical or crew issues\u2014airlines must offer rebooking, accommodations, meal vouchers, or hotel stays at no extra cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <strong>weather-related cancellations<\/strong> are not considered controllable, meaning compensation is limited. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has a Consumer Dashboard that outlines passenger rights and airline obligations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-understanding-flight-delays-and-refund-rules\">Understanding Flight Delays and Refund Rules<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Under DOT rules effective since October, passengers are eligible for a <strong>refund<\/strong> if their flight is <strong>significantly delayed<\/strong> and the cause is within the airline\u2019s control.
