DELHI-<\/strong> An Air India (AI)<\/a> flight bound for Delhi (DEL) from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) was diverted to Kolkata (CCU) on June 29, 2025, following persistent high cabin temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India (AI) confirmed that flight AI357 landed safely in Kolkata (CCU) and assured passengers that alternative arrangements are underway to continue the journey to Delhi (DEL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Tokyo to Delhi Flight Diverted<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Flight AI357 departed from Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) on schedule, en route to its destination, Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), when the crew experienced a persistent rise in cabin temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a precautionary measure, the flight was diverted to Kolkata Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU)<\/a>, where it landed without incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a statement issued by Air India (AI), the decision to divert was made in the interest of passenger safety and comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon landing, the aircraft was taken out of service for technical inspection and maintenance. The airline\u2019s ground teams in Kolkata mobilized quickly to assist disembarked passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight was operated by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner<\/a>, registered as VT-ANI. Further, it is a 13.1-year-old aircraft powered by GEnX engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per FlightRadar24 data, the airline likely deployed another aircraft, a 15.8-year-old Boeing 777-300ER, registered as VT-ALR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It took off from Kolkata at 18:38 UTC (12:08 AM IST) and landed safely at Delhi Airport at 20:26 UTC (1:56 AM IST).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snag Disrupted Delhi\u2013Singapore Flight<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A similar disruption occurred on May 31, 2025, affecting Air India (AI) Flight AI2382 from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). The Airbus A321, scheduled to depart at 12:55 PM, faced repeated take-off aborts due to a persistent technical issue.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, the aircraft began taxiing slightly ahead of schedule but returned to the gate after the problem emerged. Passengers remained onboard for more than three hours<\/strong> while technicians attempted a fix. A second departure attempt also failed, prompting the captain to return the aircraft to its parking bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extended delay caused discomfort among travelers, especially elderly passengers and those with connecting flights. Food service was initially limited to popcorn, with full meals only served around 6:45 PM<\/strong>\u2014over five hours after the scheduled departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
