The Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-900ER with registration N293AK declared an emergency and returned to Seattle shortly after take off.
The aircraft was operating flight AS558 from Seattle to San Diego with 176 passengers and six crew members on board
As seen in the video shared on the internet, the cowling of the left engine came loose and ripped off during landing.
The Boeing 737-900ER involved in the incident is a 3.9 years old aircraft. It was delivered to the airline back in September, 2018.
