In a landmark move for India’s civil aviation manufacturing sector, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (PJSC-UAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to produce the SJ-100 civil commuter aircraft in India.

On July 11, 2023, a plane belonging to a private charter company made an emergency landing at HAL Airport in Bengaluru as Nose gear was unable to extend upon landing.
