MONTREAL- Air Canada (AC) is expanding its international network for Summer 2027 with new routes from Vancouver International Airport (YVR), Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), and Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
The airline will add services to Guangzhou (CAN), Oslo (OSL), Shannon (SNN), Nice (NCE), Basel-Mulhouse (BSL), and Dubrovnik (DBV), while also increasing frequencies and extending several existing international services to year-round operations.
Air Canada Strengthens Its Three-Hub International Network
Air Canada’s Summer 2027 expansion will build on its three major Canadian hubs in Vancouver, Toronto and Montréal.
The airline plans to operate more than 125 international routes, offering up to 169,000 seats each week from Canada to more than 85 international destinations across the Atlantic, Pacific, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.
The carrier expects available seat miles across these regions to increase by more than 8% compared with Summer 2026. The expansion also supports Air Canada’s long-term growth strategy, which the airline expects will create more than 1,500 additional direct jobs by 2028 and increase its annual contribution to Canada’s GDP by more than $7 billion.
Air Canada Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Mark Galardo described Summer 2027 as the airline’s most extensive intercontinental expansion to date. He said the network changes are intended to strengthen Canada’s role as a connecting point for international travel, trade and tourism.
Vancouver Adds Nonstop Guangzhou Service
Air Canada will launch year-round service between Vancouver (YVR) and Guangzhou (CAN), adding the Chinese city as its third destination in mainland China.
The airline says it will be the only North American carrier serving Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province and a major commercial center in the Pearl River Delta. The route will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft equipped with Air Canada Signature, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
The service will also provide connections at Vancouver to destinations across North America. Air Canada says it will operate up to 24 weekly frequencies to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou combined.
Guangzhou schedule:
- AC77: Vancouver (YVR) to Guangzhou (CAN), departing 00:35 and arriving 05:00 the following day on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
- AC76: Guangzhou (CAN) to Vancouver (YVR), departing 09:45 and arriving 06:30 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
- Start date: May 4, 2027, for the outbound service, with the return beginning May 5, 2027.
- Season: Year-round.
Toronto Adds Oslo, Shannon and Nice
Toronto Pearson (YYZ) will gain three new international services in Summer 2027, connecting Canada’s largest international hub with Oslo (OSL), Shannon (SNN) and Nice (NCE).
The Oslo service will strengthen Air Canada’s presence in Scandinavia. The airline currently serves Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen and describes itself as the only North American airline offering nonstop flights to Norway.
Air Canada will operate the Toronto-Oslo route with its Airbus A321XLR fleet. The aircraft will feature two cabins, including the premium Air Canada Signature cabin with lie-flat seats.
Toronto-Oslo schedule:
- AC940: Toronto (YYZ) to Oslo (OSL), departing 21:30 and arriving 11:15 the following day.
- AC941: Oslo (OSL) to Toronto (YYZ), departing 12:30 and arriving 14:40.
- Outbound operating days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
- Return operating days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Season: June 2, 2027, to October 10, 2027, with the return operating through October 11.
New Toronto-Shannon Flights Target Ireland’s West Coast
Air Canada will add Shannon (SNN) to its Toronto network, giving the airline a second destination in Ireland alongside Dublin.
The carrier says it will be the only airline offering nonstop service between Canada and Shannon. The route will also use Airbus A321XLR aircraft with Air Canada Signature and Economy cabins.
Toronto-Shannon schedule:
- AC968: Toronto (YYZ) to Shannon (SNN), departing 21:30 and arriving 09:05 the following day.
- AC969: Shannon (SNN) to Toronto (YYZ), departing 10:20 and arriving 12:35.
- Outbound operating days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Return operating days: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- Season: June 10, 2027, to October 2, 2027, with the return operating through October 3.
Toronto-Nice Service Expands French Riviera Access
Air Canada will also launch nonstop Toronto-Nice (NCE) service, complementing its existing Montréal-Nice operation.
The airline says the Toronto service will combine with Montréal-Nice flights to provide daily service to Nice during the summer schedule. Airbus A330-300 aircraft will operate the route with Air Canada Signature, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
Toronto-Nice schedule:
- AC964: Toronto (YYZ) to Nice (NCE), departing 19:30 and arriving at 09:40 the following day.
- AC965: Nice (NCE) to Toronto (YYZ), departing at 11:10 and arriving 14:30.
- Operating days: Wednesday and Saturday.
- Season: June 16, 2027, to October 23, 2027.
Montréal Adds Basel and Dubrovnik
Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) will gain new services to Basel-Mulhouse (BSL) in Switzerland and Dubrovnik (DBV) in Croatia.
The Basel route will connect Montréal with a major European city known for its banking and pharmaceutical industries and its location near France on the Rhine River. Air Canada says it will be the only North American airline serving all three major Swiss cities of Zurich, Geneva and Basel.
The Basel service will use Airbus A321XLR aircraft with Air Canada Signature and Economy cabins.
Montréal-Basel schedule:
- AC966: Montréal (YUL) to Basel-Mulhouse (BSL), departing 20:30 and arriving 10:10 the following day.
- AC967: Basel-Mulhouse (BSL) to Montréal (YUL), departing 12:15 and arriving 14:40.
- Outbound operating days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
- Return operating days: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Season: June 16, 2027, to October 23, 2027, with the return operating through October 24.
New Dubrovnik Service Targets Premium Leisure Demand
Air Canada will introduce Montréal-Dubrovnik (DBV) service to strengthen access to Croatia and the Adriatic region.
The airline says it will be the only Canadian carrier offering a premium lie-flat business-class product to Dubrovnik. The route will be operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliners featuring Air Canada Signature, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
Montréal-Dubrovnik schedule:
- AC950: Montréal (YUL) to Dubrovnik (DBV), departing 18:15 and arriving 08:30 the following day.
- AC951: Dubrovnik (DBV) to Montréal (YUL), departing 10:45 and arriving 13:45.
- Outbound operating days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Return operating days: Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- Season: May 11, 2027, to October 23, 2027, with the return operating through October 24.
Additional Schedule Changes
Beyond the new routes, Air Canada will resume its London Heathrow Daytripper service and increase Shanghai service to daily operations.
The airline will also make its new Guatemala City flights, scheduled to begin in December 2026, year-round. Existing services to Tenerife, Lima and Guatemala City from Montréal will also become year-round operations as part of the Summer 2027 schedule.
These changes complement the new international services and increase the amount of year-round connectivity available through Air Canada’s Canadian hubs.
New Aircraft Support International Growth
Air Canada is linking its network expansion to the arrival of next-generation aircraft, including Airbus A321XLRs and additional wide-body aircraft.
The A321XLR will be used on several of the new European routes, including services from Toronto to Oslo and Shannon and from Montréal to Basel. Boeing 787 Dreamliners will serve Guangzhou and Dubrovnik, while the Toronto-Nice route will use the Airbus A330-300.
The airline also indicated that further network announcements are expected as additional aircraft arrive, including details concerning its initial Boeing 787-10 operations.
Air Canada Summer 2027 Network Impact
The expanded schedule gives passengers more nonstop options between Canada and major destinations in Europe and Asia. It also increases connectivity through Vancouver, Toronto and Montréal, allowing passengers to connect onward across Air Canada’s broader North American network.
Government and airport officials cited the potential benefits for tourism, trade and business connectivity. Vancouver International Airport highlighted the importance of the Guangzhou route for Canada-China and Asia-Pacific travel and trade, while Toronto Pearson and Montréal airport authorities said the new services would strengthen their respective international hub roles.
Air Canada said its international expansion is intended to support jobs, tourism, trade and economic activity while strengthening Canada’s links with global markets.

The airline notes that the Guangzhou service remains subject to government approvals and that schedules are subject to change.
