PHU QUOC— Aeroflot (SU) will launch new direct flights between Moscow and Phu Quoc, marking the Russian carrier’s expansion to a third scheduled destination in Vietnam.
The new service will begin on October 15, 2026, connecting Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO) in Moscow with Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC).
The airline will operate the Moscow–Phu Quoc route twice a week, adding a new nonstop option for travelers between Russia and Vietnam. Departures from Sheremetyevo are scheduled for Thursdays and Sundays, while return flights from Phu Quoc will operate on Mondays and Fridays.
Aeroflot Moscow to Phu Quoc Flight
Aeroflot will deploy Airbus A330 widebody aircraft on the new route. The aircraft will feature a two-class configuration with Economy and Business Class cabins, giving passengers options for both leisure and premium travel.
The launch represents Aeroflot’s first scheduled service between Moscow and Phu Quoc. The Vietnamese island has become an important leisure destination for international visitors, particularly during its main tourism season, which generally runs from November through May.
The twice-weekly schedule also places the new service ahead of the peak winter holiday period.
Aeroflot expects the route to support demand from Russian travelers seeking warm-weather and seaside destinations during the colder months.
Aeroflot Vietnam Expansion Strategy Grows
Phu Quoc will become Aeroflot’s third scheduled destination in Vietnam.
The airline already operates services from Moscow to Ho Chi Minh City, while Nha Trang is served from Moscow as well as several Russian regional cities, including Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok.
The addition of Phu Quoc therefore broadens Aeroflot’s network in Vietnam beyond the country’s major urban and established resort markets. It also gives the carrier another direct connection to a destination known primarily for beach tourism.
Recent reports from Vietnam indicate that Russian visitor demand for Phu Quoc and Vietnam has been increasing.
Direct connectivity can make the island more accessible to travelers while strengthening links between Russia and Vietnam’s tourism market.
Winter Travel Demand Rises Sharply
The new Aeroflot service is particularly relevant as Phu Quoc enters its high-demand tourism period. With flights beginning in October, the schedule will provide travelers with direct access to the island shortly before the core November-to-May season, Vietnam.VN reported.
For Aeroflot, the route adds another long-haul destination to its international network while strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia.
The use of the Airbus A330 also gives the carrier widebody capacity on a route designed to serve both leisure travelers and premium passengers.
The Moscow–Phu Quoc service will initially operate twice weekly, with outbound flights on Thursdays and Sundays and return services on Mondays and Fridays.
Aeroflot’s expansion makes Phu Quoc the latest Vietnamese destination to receive scheduled direct connectivity from the Russian carrier.
