DUBAI- Emirates (EK) has resumed limited passenger flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Bahrain International Airport (BAH) from August 15 after weeks of cancellations caused by regional security tensions. The airline has restored one daily service while keeping two other Bahrain flights suspended.
Operations between Emirates (EK) and Kuwait International Airport (KWI) remain suspended, reflecting the continued impact of airspace restrictions and operational uncertainty across the Gulf. Several regional and international airlines are also maintaining reduced schedules.
Emirates Gradually Restores Bahrain Operations
Emirates has resumed its Dubai to Bahrain route with the return of flight EK839, which departs Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 4:00 pm and arrives at Bahrain International Airport (BAH) at 4:20 pm local time.
The restored service marks only a partial return to normal operations. Before the disruptions, Emirates operated three daily flights between Dubai and Bahrain. At present, flights EK835 and EK837 remain suspended, leaving passengers with only one daily Emirates-operated option on the route.
According to the airline’s booking system, no Emirates-operated passenger flights are currently available between Dubai and Kuwait. The carrier had previously suspended all three Bahrain services along with four daily Kuwait flights, including EK853, EK855, EK857, and EK859, as regional tensions disrupted airline operations throughout the Gulf.
Emirates has also reminded customers that its online booking platform displays only Emirates-operated flights. Travelers with codeshare itineraries are advised to check directly with the operating airline for schedule updates.

Etihad Continues Reduced Bahrain Schedule
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways (EY) is also operating a limited schedule between Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Bahrain International Airport (BAH).
Flights EY643 and EY644 continue to operate as scheduled. However, three additional daily return services, including EY641-EY642, EY645-EY646, and EY647-EY648, remain cancelled until August 21.
Etihad has confirmed that affected passengers are being offered alternative travel arrangements, including rebooking on available services whenever possible.
For Kuwait, the airline continues to operate one daily flight, with EY653 departing Abu Dhabi for Kuwait International Airport (KWI) each morning.
Other Gulf Airlines Maintain Services
Other airlines across the Gulf continue to adjust operations based on changing regional conditions.
flydubai (FZ) and Air Arabia (G9) continue serving Bahrain and Kuwait, although some individual flights remain subject to cancellation depending on operational requirements.
Qatar Airways (QR) has resumed daily flights between Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Bahrain International Airport (BAH), Kuwait International Airport (KWI), and Erbil International Airport (EBL). Throughout the recent disruption, the airline maintained services between Doha and destinations in the United Arab Emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
Kuwait Airways (KU) and Jazeera Airways (J9) continue operating multiple daily services connecting Kuwait with Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Bahrain’s Gulf Air (GF) has also maintained flights linking Bahrain with both UAE cities.
International Airlines Continue Schedule Changes
While some regional routes are gradually returning, many international airlines continue operating under modified schedules because of ongoing security concerns.
Air Canada (AC) has extended the suspension of flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) until mid-January 2027.
KLM (KL) has suspended flights to Dubai, Riyadh, and Dammam until September 6, citing continued avoidance of the airspace over Iran, Iraq, Israel, and parts of the Arabian Gulf.
Lufthansa (LH), Swiss (LX), and other Lufthansa Group airlines have also adjusted services to several Middle East destinations in recent weeks. Air France (AF) has temporarily suspended flights to Saudi Arabia as it continues reviewing operational conditions.
Most airlines continue to cite security considerations, restricted airspace, and operational uncertainty when determining future schedules. Flight availability across the region remains subject to change as carriers monitor the evolving situation.
