DOHA— Qatar Airways (QR) is significantly expanding its operations between Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha and Dubai International Airport (DXB), increasing services from two daily flights to five daily flights as passenger demand continues to grow across the Gulf region.
The expansion began on June 5, 2026, with the introduction of a third daily flight. Qatar Airways announced that additional frequencies will be added in phases over the coming weeks, strengthening connectivity between Qatar and the United Arab Emirates while offering travelers greater flexibility and more scheduling options.

Dubai’s Growth and International Expansion
Qatar Airways is gradually restoring and expanding its presence in the UAE market through increased services to Dubai.
The carrier confirmed that the route will grow from the current two daily flights to five daily flights by the summer season, resulting in up to 35 weekly flights between Doha and Dubai.
The airline introduced its third daily service on June 5. A fourth daily flight will begin on June 15, while the fifth daily service will return later during the peak summer travel period, The Peninsula Qatar flagged.
Qatar Airways plans to operate the additional flights using a mix of Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 aircraft.
Both widebody aircraft offer substantial passenger capacity and premium cabin options, supporting the airline’s strategy of serving both business and leisure travelers on one of the region’s busiest air corridors.
The expanded schedule comes as travel demand between Qatar and the UAE continues to recover and grow. Increased flight options are expected to improve convenience for passengers traveling for tourism, corporate meetings, family visits, and international connections.

Qatar’s Regional Network Expansion
The Dubai frequency increase forms part of Qatar Airways’ broader strategy to strengthen its Middle East network.
The airline has steadily restored services across the region while responding to rising demand for short-haul and connecting traffic.
Earlier this year, Qatar Airways resumed operations to Dubai and Sharjah in April.
The carrier subsequently restarted flights to Abu Dhabi in May, further rebuilding its UAE network and improving access to key destinations across the Gulf.
The airline currently serves more than 20 destinations throughout the Middle East. By increasing frequencies on established routes, Qatar Airways aims to provide seamless travel options for passengers connecting through its Doha hub to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.

Qatar Airways’ Summer Capacity Plans
Qatar Airways continues to pursue an ambitious global expansion strategy.
The airline expects its network to exceed 160 destinations by the summer season, supported by restored routes, additional frequencies, and increased aircraft deployment.
The latest Dubai expansion reflects the carrier’s confidence in sustained regional travel demand and the growing importance of Gulf connectivity.
Industry analysts view the route as a key market due to strong economic ties, tourism flows, and business travel between Qatar and the UAE.
As the phased rollout continues, Qatar Airways is encouraging passengers to review flight schedules through its official booking channels and keep contact information updated to receive operational notifications and travel updates.
