LONDON— Police in the United Kingdom have arrested a pilot employed by British Airways (BA) following allegations that he secretly recorded intimate encounters with women and later shared the footage without consent.
The arrest occurred as part of an investigation led by the Metropolitan Police after a woman in her twenties reported that explicit videos had been recorded and distributed without her permission. The case has drawn attention within the aviation industry because the suspect works for the London-based carrier operating from London Heathrow Airport (LHR).

Pilot Arrest Investigation
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers arrested the suspect, who is a 31-year-old man, on Thursday after receiving a complaint from a woman who claimed she had been secretly filmed during intimate encounters.
The complainant alleged that recordings of her were later shared online without her knowledge or approval. Police have since launched a wider investigation to determine whether similar incidents may have occurred involving other individuals.
Reports indicate that several women have come forward with allegations connected to the same individual. Some of the women are believed to be between the ages of 24 and 36, and authorities are reviewing the information provided by them, reported The Times.
Officers have released the suspect on bail while they continue gathering evidence and conducting interviews. Police said the investigation remains active as detectives assess the scope of the claims.

British Airways Response to the Arrest
Sources within the airline indicated that the pilot has been removed from active flying duties while the investigation continues. The temporary restriction prevents him from operating flights until authorities complete their inquiries.
The airline has not publicly discussed details of the case, but internal sources suggest the company is cooperating with law enforcement. British Airways has also reportedly provided wellbeing support to the employee during the investigation period.
Airlines typically suspend crew members during serious criminal investigations in order to protect operational integrity and maintain passenger confidence. Such measures are common across the aviation industry when legal matters involve licensed flight crew.

Aviation Authority Review
The UK Civil Aviation Authority has also acknowledged the reports connected to the case and confirmed that it is reviewing related concerns.
Regulators said they cannot comment on specific individuals but emphasized that safety and professional standards remain a priority.
Authorities indicated that any credible reports involving substance misuse or behavior affecting aviation safety would be assessed carefully. If necessary, regulators can take action that affects a pilot’s medical certification or licensing.
The outcome of the police investigation could determine whether additional regulatory steps are required. Aviation authorities often work closely with law enforcement when allegations involve licensed aviation professionals.
For now, the pilot remains under investigation while police continue reviewing evidence and statements from those involved. Officials have not announced any formal charges as inquiries remain ongoing.
