DUBAI— Emirates Airline (EK) has signed an agreement with Dubai Investments Park to secure land for a new, purpose-built Cabin Crew Village. The multi-billion-dirham development will rise within Dubai Investments Park and is designed to accommodate up to 12,000 cabin crew members, reinforcing Emirates’ long-term operational and workforce growth strategy.
The agreement, announced on January 21, 2026, positions the new residential community strategically between Dubai International Airport (DXB), Dubai, and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), Dubai. Emirates confirmed that the project supports its future transition plans toward expanded operations at DWC.

Emirates Cabin Crew Housing
The Cabin Crew Village will comprise 20 modern residential towers, each rising 19 floors, and will offer a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments.
Emirates has stated that the buildings will be designed around crew comfort, operational convenience, and long-term livability rather than short-term accommodation needs.
The development will function as a self-contained residential community rather than a standalone housing complex. Plans include landscaped green areas, walking trails, and resort-style pools integrated across the site to promote an active and balanced lifestyle for residents.
Each residential building will also feature dedicated amenities to reduce reliance on off-site facilities.
This approach aligns with Emirates’ broader strategy of centralising crew support services while maintaining proximity to its main aviation hubs.

Project Timeline
Groundbreaking for the Cabin Crew Village is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. Emirates expects the first phase of construction to be completed in 2029, with the project delivered under a long-term lease arrangement with Dubai Investments Park.
The agreement was signed by Ali Mubarak Al Soori, Emirates’ Chief Procurement and Facilities Officer, and Khalid Bin Kalban, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Investments. Senior executives from both organisations were present, underscoring the strategic significance of the partnership.
Emirates has framed the project as a forward-looking investment rather than a reactive response to crew expansion. The airline continues to recruit cabin crew globally as it rebuilds and expands capacity across its widebody fleet.

Dubai Investments Park
Dubai Investments Park is one of the UAE’s largest integrated mixed-use developments, spanning 23 million square metres. The community combines industrial, logistics, commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality zones within a single master-planned environment.
With occupancy reported at nearly full capacity in 2025, the addition of Emirates’ Cabin Crew Village further strengthens DIP’s role as a destination for large-scale, long-term investment.
The project also adds a significant residential component tailored to aviation professionals, a segment rarely served at this scale in the region.
From Emirates’ perspective, the location offers logistical efficiency by maintaining balanced access to both DXB and DWC.
This positioning is expected to become increasingly critical as the airline gradually aligns more operations with Al Maktoum International Airport.

Bottom Line
Emirates’ decision to develop a dedicated Cabin Crew Village at Dubai Investments Park signals a long-term commitment to workforce stability, operational resilience, and future growth.
By combining large-scale residential planning with strategic airport proximity, the airline is investing not only in infrastructure but in the sustainability of its cabin crew ecosystem.
