DUBAI- Emirates (EK) marked another milestone in global pilot development as Emirates Flight Training Academy completed its sixth graduation ceremony, welcoming 77 newly qualified pilots into the aviation industry. The event reinforces Emirates’ long-term commitment to addressing pilot demand through structured, in-house training.
The ceremony took place in Dubai and was led by Emirates leadership alongside academy faculty, graduates, and their families. It highlighted the growing role of the academy as a key talent pipeline not only for Emirates but also for the wider aviation sector.

Emirates 77 Pilots Graduated
The sixth graduating class adds to a steadily expanding pool of trained aviators developed by the Emirates Flight Training Academy.
With this cohort, the academy has now produced more than 300 graduates since its launch, many of whom are already flying or undergoing advanced training on Emirates’ widebody fleet.
Of the 77 graduates, 52 came through the UAE National Pilot Cadet Programme, while the remaining 25 represented 15 different nationalities.
This balance reflects both the academy’s national mandate and its increasing international reach in pilot training.
Senior leadership described the graduation as a statement of confidence in the future of aviation. The graduates are expected to play a direct role in sustaining fleet growth and operational resilience as global air travel demand continues to recover.

National Cadet Pathway
The UAE National Pilot Cadet Programme remains the largest initiative of its kind in the country. Fully sponsored cadets enter the academy with a defined pathway that leads from initial training to aircraft type rating and eventual line flying with Emirates.
This structured progression ensures operational alignment between training outcomes and airline requirements.
It also supports national workforce development by creating long-term career opportunities for Emirati pilots within the Emirates Group.
Graduates from the programme transition seamlessly into advanced flight training, reducing onboarding time and improving operational readiness.
The approach has become a reference model for airline-sponsored pilot development.

Training Infrastructure
The Emirates Flight Training Academy operates from a purpose-built campus in Dubai South, designed to combine technical training with a residential learning environment. Cadets live on site, allowing them to focus fully on an intensive and demanding training schedule.
The facility spans an area comparable to 200 football fields and includes 36 classrooms, six full-motion flight simulators, an independent air traffic control tower, and a dedicated 1,800-metre runway.
Classrooms are equipped with large-format interactive displays using bespoke Boeing-developed training software.
Five cadets received special recognition for exceptional performance, while one was honoured for diligence. These awards underscore the academy’s emphasis on discipline, consistency, and leadership alongside technical competence.

Bottom Line
The sixth graduation of the Emirates Flight Training Academy strengthens the airline’s long-term pilot pipeline at a time of sustained global demand.
With 77 new pilots earning their wings, Emirates continues to invest heavily in training, infrastructure, and national capability to support future growth.
