LONDON- Heathrow Airport (LHR) in London has received an investment from the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia and Ardian which are well-known organizations in their respective fields. PIF has acquired a 15% stake in the FGP TopCo, which is the parent company of Heathrow Airport Holdings, while Ardian has also acquired a stake of 22.6%.
This is a brand new opportunity for developmental growth at Heathrow and expansion of this airport to the satisfaction of its passengers and other stakeholders.
Saudi Arabia’s PIF Invest in Heathrow
The investment further reinforces the confidence towards the projected growth of Heathrow as well as the commitment towards the growth of the airport.
FGP TopCo, who is the parent company of Heathrow Airport Holdings, has been receptive towards PIF and Ardian becoming shareholders which is a significant landmark in the history of the airport.
At the same time, the placement of new investments is likely to give a push to the growth and development of Heathrow thereby permitting it to scale up capacity, overhaul the efficiency of operations, and also bring about positive changes in the experience of all the airport users.
New Era of Growth and Development
Heathrow Airport fulfills critical functions as it creates links between the UK and the rest of the world enhancing prosperity in every part of the country. It is also among the busiest in the globe with over 80 million users per year.
Heathrow will lower its risk in the business environment, which in turn means that it does not have to worry about losses. Investing in further finances means that more resources will be provided to improve the airport’s productive processes.
Creating further links in the Middle East only makes sense as that is where the world’s growth is moving towards. Once the new links are established, further capital influx into Heathrow Airport, coupled with independent infrastructure investments will make it possible to create new productive business processes that generate value and profitability.
