FRANKFURT- Lufthansa Group (LH) has unveiled its summer 2025 schedule with the German flag carrier planning to offer more than 12,000 weekly flights to over 300 global destinations.
With new intercontinental and European routes, the summer schedule includes expanded and new connections through Lufthansa Airlines, Discover Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, and Edelweiss.
Key International Routes
The summer schedule includes some new destinations to Lufthansa Group’s international network, including routes from its key hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, and Zurich:
- Frankfurt Hub: Lufthansa Airlines will offer a new route from Frankfurt to Bydgoszcz, Poland. Discover Airlines will also offer flights from Frankfurt to Ålesund, Norway.
- Munich Hub: Discover Airlines will expand its North American service with new routes from Munich to Calgary, Canada, and Orlando, USA. The Munich hub will also connect to Windhoek, Namibia, and Bodø, Norway.
- Zurich Hub: Edelweiss will offer flights from Zurich to Halifax, Canada, and Seattle, USA. New European routes include Calvi, France, and Terceira, Azores.
These new international flights are aimed at bringing several new long-haul connections across Lufthansa Group’s offerings, particularly in North America and Africa.
Enhanced European Connectivity
The summer schedule also promises a wide range of new European destinations. These routes are aimed to allow travelers to explore lesser-known but vibrant cities across Europe.
- Austrian Airlines: New flights from Vienna include Edinburgh, Scotland; Sylt, Germany; Burgas, Bulgaria; and Harstad-Narvik, Norway.
- Swiss International Air Lines: Swiss adds new routes from Zurich to Niš, Serbia, Montpellier, France, and Heringsdorf, Germany.
This expansion will broaden Lufthansa Group’s reach within Europe in a move to serve popular summer spots and unique destinations.
Expanded A380 Operations from Munich
Besides, the addition of numerous new routes across Lufthansa Group’s network, Lufthansa fans will also welcome the return of the Airbus A380 at Munich Airport.
The world’s largest passenger aircraft will resume summer flights from Munich to the following major cities:
- Boston, USA
- New York (JFK), USA
- Washington, D.C., USA
- Los Angeles, USA
- Delhi, India
Bookings Open for the Summer of 2025
All new routes are available for booking as of November 2024. Those looking to plan their summer trips early can take advantage of these expanded offerings across North America, Europe, and Africa, providing convenient connections through hubs in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Belgium.
