DUBAI- Emirates Airlines (EK) is set to enhance its service on six US routes by deploying refurbished Boeing 777 aircraft. The upgraded planes will feature the airline’s latest Business Class seats and introduce the popular Premium Economy class to these routes.
The retrofitted aircraft will operate on direct flights to Chicago, Boston, Dallas Fort Worth, and Seattle. Additionally, the Miami-Bogotá and Newark-Athens routes will also benefit from these upgraded planes.

The refurbished 777s boast a new Business Class configuration, featuring a 1-2-1 seat arrangement. These seats offer increased privacy, fully flat beds, and personal mini-bars.
With this upgrade, Emirates will offer Premium Economy seats on a mix of Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft across 12 gateways in its 19-point network in the Americas.
Premium Economy Service
Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, announced this strategic expansion, citing the success of Premium Economy on existing routes like New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Houston.
The airline aims to bring enhanced comfort and privacy to more cities through its refreshed Boeing 777 cabins. This move aligns with Emirates’ long-standing commitment to the US market, offering a competitive and value-driven proposition to customers.
By the end of 2024, Emirates will offer Premium Economy on routes to 27 global cities, including Dubai. The airline will utilize 48 Boeing 777, A380, and A350 aircraft for this service expansion. Currently, passengers can experience the refurbished Boeing 777s on flights to Geneva, Tokyo Haneda, and Brussels, with Zurich and Riyadh scheduled to join next month.
This expansion allows US customers to enjoy Premium Economy on connecting flights to destinations beyond Dubai, such as Mumbai, Bangalore, and Singapore. Moreover, Emirates passengers traveling to United Airlines’ hubs in Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco can experience Premium Economy before connecting to hundreds of US domestic points and cities in Canada and Latin America.
The refurbished Boeing 777 features a four-class configuration: six or eight First Class suites, 38 or 40 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 arrangement, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy Class seats. The aircraft’s interior has been completely refreshed, sporting new designs and color palettes across all cabins.
