DENVER- United Airlines (UA) flight UA1001 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Denver (DEN) operated by Boeing 757 made an emergency landing at DEN without one tire.
According to a report by a passenger onboard, the flight UA1001 reported the incident on Reddit.
United Flight Lands with Missing Tire
The passenger traveling onboard United 757 wrote, ‘The pilot announced that a tire might have been lost during takeoff. We proceeded to Denver as planned but prepared for an emergency landing. The crew walked us through the brace procedures.’
‘The landing wasn’t the smoothest, but we made it safely. Fire trucks met us on the taxiway, and maintenance confirmed a missing tire and a flat adjacent tire. We were towed to the terminal faster than expected, arriving at the gate 25 minutes later than scheduled,’ the passenger added.
United flight UA1001 was operated by Boeing 757-200 registered as N14107. Further, it is 29.8 years old and is powered by Rolls-Royce engines.
Update: According to United Airlines, there were 174 passengers and seven crew onboard the aircraft. The United 757 lost one of the main landing gear wheels.

This is not the first time that a United plane lands with a missing tire. On March 2024, A United Airlines flight lost a tire while taking off from San Francisco International Airport (SFO), causing damage to several cars in a parking lot before safely landing at Los Angeles International Airport, the agency reported.
The plane lost a portion of its landing gear tire during takeoff around 11:35 a.m. on Thursday as it departed for Osaka, Japan, according to San Francisco airport spokesperson Doug Yakel. United Airlines confirmed that one tire was lost after takeoff.
The tire debris landed in an employee parking lot at the airport, damaging several cars, but no injuries were reported, Yakel said.
United Flight 35, carrying 249 passengers and crew, was diverted to Los Angeles, landing shortly after 1:20 p.m. A new aircraft was arranged for the affected passengers.
Last month, United flight UA325 from Bradley (BDL) to Denver (DEN) returned as some part of the aircraft fell off after takeoff.
