DUBAI- On June 1, the low-cost carrier flyDubai (FZ) celebrated 15 years of operations and unveiled a special livery on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
From its base in Dubai (DXB), flydubai operates a network covering over 125 destinations with a fleet of 87 aircraft. Since starting operations in June 2009, flydubai has aimed to remove travel barriers, facilitate trade and tourism, and enhance cultural connectivity across its growing network.
flyDubai Completes 15 Years
Key milestones in flydubai’s journey include:
- Network Expansion: Established a network spanning over 125 destinations in 58 countries, including Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and Southeast Europe, the GCC, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.
- Serving Underserved Markets: Launched over 90 new routes that previously lacked direct air links to Dubai or were not served by a UAE national carrier from Dubai.
- Efficient Fleet: Operates a uniform fleet of 87 Boeing 737 aircraft, comprising 29 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800, 55 Boeing 737 MAX 8, and 3 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.
- Enhancing Connectivity: Transported over 100 million passengers since beginning operations in 2009.
The new livery is painted on 2-year-old Boeing 737 MAX 8 registered as A6-FPC. The aircraft operates flights to the Middle East, Central Europe, and Western Asia.
