MELBOURNE- Jetstar (JQ) marks two decades since its inaugural flight by commemorating its 100th domestic route, which entails daily flights between Melbourne (Avalon) Airport (AVV) and Brisbane (BNE) starting June 28th.
This service aims to enhance accessibility to South-East Queensland for customers residing in Greater Melbourne, Geelong, and Western Victoria while facilitating the annual transportation of thousands of Queenslanders to Melbourne, the Surf Coast, and the Great Ocean Road.
Jetstar 100th Domestic Route
Jetstar has expanded its network from Melbourne (Avalon) to include Brisbane, making it the third destination added to its roster. This expansion aligns with Jetstar’s ongoing exploration of flight opportunities to and from Melbourne, Victoria’s second 24/7 international gateway, in response to increasing demand.
The Melbourne (Avalon) to Brisbane route marks Jetstar’s 100th domestic route, underscoring the airline’s commitment over two decades to providing affordable fares for Australians, thus enabling more frequent travel opportunities.
In celebration of this new service, Jetstar will kick off a 12-hour sale starting from 12pm AEDT on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, offering one-way fares as low as $49 between Melbourne (Avalon) and Brisbane.
Stephanie Tully, CEO of Jetstar Group, expressed enthusiasm about the significance of the new route for the airline.
This marks a significant milestone for Jetstar as we introduce our 100th domestic route with the launch of flights between Melbourne (Avalon) and Brisbane. This achievement has been made possible by adding our state-of-the-art NEO aircraft to our fleet.
Establishing a direct connection between Avalon and Brisbane will offer more travel options for Victorians seeking affordable journeys to Queensland while boosting tourism to the stunning Surf Coast region and its surroundings.
It’s been two decades since our inaugural flight, enabling more Australians to travel affordably, and with each opportunity, we’re thrilled to expand our network further.
The demand for our competitive fares is at an all-time high, and we’re committed to investing in new aircraft, uniforms, and routes like this one.
We thank the Victorian Government and Melbourne (Avalon) Airport for their continuous support.
