KUALA LUMPUR- In a significant step to expand its global presence, Malaysia Airlines (MH) has entered into a strategic, multi-year partnership with the Manchester United football club, becoming its Official Commercial Airline.
Through this collaboration, Malaysia Airlines aims to extend its renowned Malaysian Hospitality to Manchester United’s extensive community of over 1.1 billion fans and followers worldwide.
Malaysia Airlines Manchester United Partnership
The partnership seeks to enhance brand visibility to a diverse global audience by leveraging co-branded marketing initiatives while delivering top-notch service and immersive experiences synonymous with both brands.
Simultaneously, during the event coinciding with MATTA Fair 2024, Malaysia Airlines unveiled its plans to introduce flights to three new destinations: Malé, Maldives (MLE); Da Nang, Vietnam (DAD); and Chiang Mai, Thailand (CNX).
The airline will offer improved connectivity from its main hub in Kuala Lumpur with new direct flights to MLE, DAD, and CNX. Ticket sales for these routes will commence on 22 March 2024.
The airline is set to commence daily flights to MLE from 1 August 2024, daily flights to DAD from 24 September 2024, and five times weekly flights to CNX from 15 August 2024.
This will signify the airline’s 13th destination in South Asia and 16th in ASEAN as it endeavors to amplify its presence in vital markets, reinforcing its stature as the gateway to Asia and beyond, aligning with its commercial advancement journey.
As a member of the oneworld® alliance, Malaysia Airlines presently provides extensive connectivity to over 900 destinations in 170 territories worldwide.
Malaysia Airlines New A330neo Seats
During the same event, the airline introduced its latest Airbus A330neo Business Class and Economy Class seats as part of its fleet modernization initiative, ahead of the anticipated delivery of the first aircraft in Q3 2024. Further, the novel A330neo cabin will showcase several pioneering features for the airline and its fleet.
Notably, it will include the Collins Aerospace Elevation Business Class seats, boasting an all-suite cabin with individual privacy doors, alongside wireless charging pods available at all 28 Business Class seats. This move positions the airline as the foremost carrier worldwide to feature Elevation seats on the A330 airframe, underscoring its prominence as a trailblazer in passenger experience and innovation.
Meanwhile, the acclaimed Recaro CL3810 Economy Class seats will offer an ergonomic design and improved support, complemented by convenient features such as coat hooks, cup holders, and ample stowage for enhanced cabin comfort and functionality.
Adorned with the airline’s signature songket motif, the seat covers throughout the cabin seamlessly blend Malaysia’s cultural heritage with contemporary flair.
The Airbus A330neo will accommodate 297 seats (28 in Business Class and 269 in Economy Class, including 24 seats with extra legroom). Furthermore, the Visitors attending the MATTA Fair can experience these new seats for a limited duration, as they will be showcased at the MAG Arena (Level 3, MITEC, Kuala Lumpur) until 24 March 2024.
