NAIROBI- Kenya Airways (KQ), partnering with Kenya Tourism Board, launches an initiative to improve Kenya as a top tourism destination in North America through an exclusive trade roadshow.
The event will be organized in New York (NYC), Boston (BOS), and Toronto (YYZ) from March 19th to 21st, 2024. The event aims to showcase Kenya and increase interest in traveling there.
Kenya New York-Nairobi Flights
Due to the growing interest in travel to Kenya, Kenya Airways is expanding its New York service by adding two additional flights from June 15th to September 28th, 2024, to accommodate the peak summer travel season.
This Change raised the total weekly flights to nine, giving travelers dual flight choices on Thursdays and Saturdays (morning and afternoon) when departing from New York.
New York to Nairobi Route:
- Daily Flight KQ003: Departs at 13:45 and arrives the following day at 10:30.
- Additional Flights on Thursdays and Saturdays: Flight KQ005 departs at 20:00, landing the next day at 16:45.
Nairobi to New York Journey:
- Daily Flight KQ002: Takes off at 23:35 and lands the following day at 07:35.
- Extra Flights on Thursdays and Saturdays: Flight KQ004 departs at 08:45, arriving at 16:45.
The revised flight timetable provides direct flight convenience. It presents an appealing same-day arrival option, enabling travelers to leave Nairobi in the morning and reach New York by the afternoon.
International Traffic Growth
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, Kenya recorded 1.75 million international visitors in 2023, marking a substantial rise from 1.48 million in 2022.
This notable increase reflects a burgeoning demand poised to boost international tourist arrivals by an estimated 825,000 annually.
Since its establishment in 2018, Kenya Airways’ straight route connecting New York to Nairobi (NBO) has played an important role in East Africa, facilitating travel for business and leisure purposes throughout the region.
