GURUGRAM- IndiGo Airlines (6E), the largest carrier in the country based on fleet and passenger volume, has revealed its longest route to date with the introduction of daily flights to Denpasar (DPS), Bali from Bengaluru (BLR), India.
Further, this will be the 33rd International and 119th overall destination for Gurugram-based airlines. Commencing on March 29, 2024, the airline will deploy Airbus A320neo aircraft for this route.
IndiGo Bengaluru to Bali Flights
Reservations for the flight can be made starting February 20. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm, stating,
“We are thrilled to unveil Denpasar, the primary hub of the Indonesian province of Bali, as the latest international destination to be added to the 6E network.”

The airline will operate daily BLR-DPS flights as follows:
- 6E1605 departs from BLR at 00:05 and arrives at DPS at 10:20.
- 6E1606 departs from DPS at 11:20 and arrives at BLR at 15:15.
IndiGo is set to add its second destination in Indonesia, with the first being Jakarta, which is currently connected to Mumbai (BOM). The airline initiated flights to Jakarta on August 07, 2023.
Leisure Route
Tata SIA Vistara (UK) inaugurated flights to Bali from Delhi (DEL) on December 01, 2023, utilizing the A321LR for this route, four of which are currently part of its fleet. With the schedules aligning closely, two Indian-registered aircraft will concurrently be in Bali starting March 29, 2024, reported Network Thoughts.
This development transforms flights to Bali from India into a dual-city affair, with the northern connection facilitated by Vistara from Delhi and the southern link provided by IndiGo from Bengaluru. The possibility of passengers from the North choosing to fly IndiGo via Bengaluru, and vice versa for those in the South opting for Vistara, remains a viable option based on personal preference and premium offerings.
Notably, there are numerous alternatives offered by Malaysia Airlines (MH), Thai Airways (TG), AirAsia Group, Vietjet (VJ), Vietnam Airlines (VN), and Singapore Airlines (SQ) for flying to Bali from various points in India via their respective hubs.
IndiGo’s Longest Flights
The great circle distance between Bengaluru and Bali spans 4800 km, while the distance between Mumbai and Jakarta is slightly shorter at 4637 km. For the Mumbai – Nairobi route, the great circle distance is 4531 km.
IndiGo’s deployment of damp leased aircraft on the Delhi – Istanbul sector covers a great circle distance of 4574 km. Moving on to the Mumbai – Istanbul route, it is slightly longer at 4838 km and is operated by a damp leased Boeing 777 from its codeshare partner Turkish Airlines (TK).
As a result, the Bengaluru – Bali flight now holds the distinction of being the longest narrowbody flight within IndiGo’s network. Interestingly, it will be operated by the A320neo and not the A321neo, as indicated by the booking engine.
