GURUGRAM- Tata-owned Air India (AI) has introduced an extensive library of content for its state-of-the-art inflight entertainment (IFE) system, designed to provide a captivating entertainment experience for passengers on its long-haul flights.
The comprehensive range of the new IFE content encompasses over 2,200 hours of entertainment across various formats and genres, including 1,000 hours of movies, 600 hours of TV shows, and 600 hours of audio content, catering to the preferences of today’s discerning travelers.
Air India In-Flight Entertainment
This enhanced IFE experience will be accessible on Air India’s A350, the recently added Boeing 777-200LR, and on forthcoming new widebody aircraft.
The legacy widebody fleet of Air India, slated for a complete refurbishment of all interiors starting in the second half of 2024 through a US$400 million retrofit program, will subsequently incorporate the advanced IFE system along with an expanded content offering.

From Bollywood blockbusters to Hollywood premieres, from global music icons to captivating documentaries, and featuring the new Air India Radio, passengers can now access a plethora of the world’s best content at their fingertips while flying with Air India.
The extensive library of Indian content in the skies: Air India offers the largest collection of Indian movies in the air, ranging from timeless classics like Sholay and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to contemporary hits like Kantara and Drishyam 2.
With over 250 Indian movies covering decades and genres, the new content catalog provides a diverse range of regional cinema, including 76 regional movies in eight languages. Additionally, passengers can enjoy popular web series and digital content.
Hollywood blockbusters for every taste: Air India’s Hollywood collection includes nearly 200 movies featuring BAFTA and Oscars-winning titles, along with the latest nominees such as Barbie and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One. Passengers can also indulge in binge-watching entire franchises like Harry Potter, Spider-Man, and Despicable Me.
International favorites: Air India’s global cinematic repertoire encompasses 14 languages, including French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Danish, Icelandic, and Dutch. The selection includes critically acclaimed films from around the world.
Other Service Enhancements
TV and digital content: Air India’s extensive in-flight library offers over 900 episodes of Western, Indian, and International TV shows and digital content across various genres. Passengers can enjoy content from popular streaming and OTT platforms like Paramount, HBO, Prime, Sony Liv, Hulu, and more. The collection includes over 40 full series featuring award-winning shows such as Succession, The Last of Us, Yellowstone, Reacher, and British dramas like Sherlock, The Night Manager, and Dr. Who.
Introducing Air India Radio: The specially curated Air India Radio offers an engaging auditory experience with insightful podcasts, including a special edition series on the history of cricket World Cups called “Cup O’tales.” The music collection comprises 800 choices from various genres and over 60 curated playlists, featuring classic albums from Pop, Rock, Dance, Jazz, Classical, Bollywood, Ghazals, Hindustani & Carnatic Classical, Indipop, Indian Regional, and more.
Kids Zone: Young flyers can enjoy over 55 hours of curated audio and video content in three dedicated sections: Pre-School, Kids, and Teens. The content includes favorites like CoComelon, Blippi, Oddbods, Baby Shark, Mickey Mouse, Karadi Tales, and the complete Pretty Little Liars series.
3D moving map experience: Air India introduces ArcTM, an immersive inflight map experience from Panasonic Avionics Corporation, available on its A350 fleet. Arc’s Explore mode is an interactive experience allowing passengers to explore the world’s geography, read curated city guides, and zoom in to street map views of select cities. It provides real-time flight data, world clock time zones, and more.
Full HD experience on touchscreens: Air India’s A350 aircraft features state-of-the-art viewing with a flexible and modular architecture, elegant design, and cabin-wide full-HD 1080p monitors. Business class guests enjoy a large 21-inch HD touchscreen, while Premium Economy and Economy guests have 13.3-inch and 12-inch HD touchscreens, respectively. The IFE includes capacitive touchscreens, handsets, USB and AC power, and personalized user interfaces.
New headsets in all cabins: On the A350, Business and Premium Economy guests receive lightweight, comfortable, active noise-canceling headsets with superior sound quality. Economy passengers receive reusable earphones in vibrant red with aubergine silicone tips packaged in eco-friendly pouches.
Unveiling New Airbus A350
As Air India ushers in a new era with the introduction of its Airbus A350 aircraft, the Panasonic eX3 IFE system, and an exceptional content catalog, it remains at the forefront of the transformation of Indian aviation.
The airline offers a perfect combination of a world-class product, warm Indian hospitality, and elevated service standards.
Air India is currently implementing its new global brand identity across various guest touchpoints, encompassing a redesigned consumer-facing website and mobile app.
Additionally, the airline has introduced a new collection of uniforms for both cabin and cockpit crew, curated by renowned Indian celebrity couturier Manish Malhotra.
In December, Air India marked a significant milestone with the delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and an additional five are scheduled for delivery by March 2024.
