PARIS- Air France (AF) is staying on course with its strategy to broaden its network, with plans to introduce seven destinations to its summer 2024 schedule (April to October 2024), featuring three new cities originating from its Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) hub.
The French carrier has also made this week, Air France submitted several modifications to its intercontinental operations for the upcoming Northern Summer 2024 season.
Air France European Destinations
For medium-haul flights, Air France is set to incorporate three new cities from its Paris-Charles de Gaulle hub:
- Verona (Italy): Up to 3 weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, starting from April 2, 2024, utilizing the Embraer 190.
- Narvik, serving as the gateway to the Lofoten Islands (Norway): 1 weekly flight every Saturday between June 15 and August 31, 2024, utilizing the Airbus A319.
- Kalamata (Greece): 1 weekly flight every Saturday from July 6 to August 31, 2024, operated on the Airbus A319.
Additionally, Air France’s services to Tromsø (Norway), previously available only during winter, will now be extended throughout the summer, with up to 2 flights a week from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, using the Airbus A319.
Long Haul Routes
On May 13, 2024, Air France is set to recommence flights to Minneapolis (Minnesota, USA), previously operated during the summer of 2023 through its partner, Delta Air Lines, within the transatlantic joint venture alliance comprising Air France, KLM, Delta Air Lines, and Virgin Atlantic. The daily flights will be conducted using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Additionally, in the United States, the Paris-Charles de Gaulle – Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina) route, inaugurated in winter 2023, will be extended into the summer of 2024, with an increased frequency of up to 7 flights per week (compared to 3 flights per week in winter 2023-2024). These flights will be operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
This expansion will bring the total number of North American cities served by Air France in the summer to 23, including Atlanta, Cancun, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, Montreal, New York JFK, Newark, Ottawa, Quebec City, San Francisco, Toronto, Seattle, Vancouver, and Washington DC.
Heading east, the Paris-Charles de Gaulle – Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) service introduced in winter 2023 will also continue into the summer of 2024, featuring daily flights operated with A350-900 aircraft.
