NEW YORK- JetBlue Airways (B6) has implemented a new family seating policy. This guarantee ensures that children aged 13 years and younger will be seated beside the adult accompanying them on the same reservation.
JetBlue is taking this step as part of its continuous efforts to improve the travel experience and create a more comfortable and stress-free journey for its passengers.

JetBlue Family Seating Policy Guarantee
JetBlue’s family seating guarantee now features an innovative process that actively detects reservations involving children and accompanying adults who haven’t chosen their seats in advance.
This process comes at no extra cost. It guarantees that a child traveling with adults will be seated beside an adult companion. This applies only when seats are accessible.
This action comes in response to a request from the US Department of Transportation‘s Office of Aviation Consumer Protection. The department urged airlines to ensure that they seat children aged 13 or younger with adults.
They emphasized the possibility of taking further action if any obstacles prevented this arrangement.
JetBlue has become the fourth airline in the United States to adopt this policy. It joins the ranks of Frontier Airlines, United Airlines, and Alaska Airlines in doing so.

Proactive Seat Selection
The family seating policy automatically covers customers who select JetBlue’s Blue Basic fare, equivalent to basic economy.
For bookings made within 24 hours of departure, JetBlue airport staff may need to assign seats manually. We encourage all passengers to actively choose their seats during booking to enhance their travel experience.
“We understand that traveling with young children can bring unique challenges. Our aim is to make every JetBlue journey as seamless as possible for parents and families,” stated Joanna Geraghty, President and Chief Operating Officer of JetBlue.
She emphasized that the improved family seating policy underscores JetBlue’s dedication to consistently meeting customer needs and delivering exceptional service.
