DUBAI, CHICAGO- UAE-based carrier Emirates (EK) has announced a significant expansion of its codeshare collaboration with US-based United (UA) Airlines, encompassing nine additional destinations in Mexico.
This enhancement means that Emirates passengers now have access to eight new Mexican cities and the airline’s existing service to Mexico City.
Emirates United Mexico Flights
The expansive codeshare partnership between Emirates and United currently covers various cities in the United States, marking Mexico as the first country outside the US to be integrated into this expanding network.
This codeshare agreement offers customers increased flexibility and choices, facilitating seamless connections. Passengers flying with Emirates to either Chicago or Houston can now easily connect to an array of exciting leisure destinations in Mexico.
The newly added Mexican destinations include Cancun, Cozumel, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, San Jose Del Cabo, Leon/Guanajuato, and Queretaro.
Additionally, the codeshare partnership enhances flexibility in terms of flight schedules, offering Emirates passengers traveling to Mexico City a wider array of flight options.
Depending on their travel plans, passengers can choose to reach the Mexican capital by utilizing Emirates’ daily services from Dubai with a stopover in Barcelona, or they can independently book codeshare flights to Mexico City.
This expansion of the codeshare network also allows customers departing from the nine Mexican cities to connect to destinations within Emirates’ network via Chicago or Houston.
Tickets to these codeshare destinations in Mexico can be booked through emirates.com and preferred travel agencies, with travel commencing on September 14th.
The newly expanded network of Mexican destinations now accessible to Emirates customers is expected to be especially popular among travelers from regions such as the Middle East, India, and South Africa.
Key destinations frequently visited by global travelers originating from Mexican cities include India, Israel, the UAE, South Africa, and selected points in Southeast Asia.
Enhanced Codeshare Network
With the inclusion of these new destinations in Mexico, the expanded codeshare network now encompasses 134 locations, which can be accessed via United’s gateways in the United States.
Additionally, customers have nearly 100 more destinations across the United States, Canada, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean, available for selection through interline arrangements.
Emirates operates daily services to Houston, featuring its flagship A380 aircraft. Recently, Emirates introduced its latest offering, Premium Economy, on its Houston services.
As the world’s largest international airline, Emirates also conducts seven weekly flights connecting Dubai and Chicago, utilizing its other widebody aircraft, the Boeing 777. This enables passengers to plan their travel itineraries to various global destinations seamlessly.
Passengers with Emirates’ flight itineraries can conveniently organize their entire journey using a single ticket and benefit from hassle-free perks such as Emirates’ baggage allowance, along with the convenience of baggage check-through to their final destination.*
Moreover, members of Emirates’ frequent flyer program, Emirates Skywards, can anticipate the opportunity to earn and redeem miles on both airlines’ flights when booking codeshare flights.**
Baggage check-through applies to travel originating from Mexico. International travelers flying to Mexican destinations on Emirates and United codeshare flights must clear customs with US Customs at their initial point of entry (Chicago or Houston).
** Travel plans involving interline flights on Emirates and United are not eligible for Skywards Miles accrual.
