DELHI- Tata-backed Indian FSC Air India (AI) inaugural flight between Delhi and Amsterdam Takes off for the first time on June 11, 2023.
The legacy carrier announced the route back on May 8, 2023. Further, the flight will be serviced by a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with two cabin classes. Subsequently, AI will operate flights for four times a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
Air India Delhi to Amsterdam Flight Takes off
According to Flight Radar 24, the Air India flight AI155 departed from Delhi (DEL) at 1:25 PM IST (7:55 AM UTC). Subsequently, the aircraft will cover 6,375 KM and is expected to land at Amsterdam (AMS), Netherlands, at 18:35 Local Time.
The aircraft used by Air India for its Inaugural flight is Boeing 787, having registration VT-NAC. Further, the aircraft is 5.7 years old, and the airline took delivery of it Oct 2017.
Air India is expanding its network in Europe with the addition of Amsterdam as its 8th continental European city.
This marks the fourth European destination from Delhi that the airline has connected in the past four months. With this new route, Air India now offers a total of 77 weekly non-stop flights between India and Europe. Further providing passengers with increased flexibility and convenience.
Mr. Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD of Air India, expressed his thoughts on the launch of the new Amsterdam route. He stated, “By introducing this non-stop flight to Amsterdam, Air India is expanding its long-haul network and providing more choices for our customers.”
“This, along with the addition of other European routes in recent months and those planned for the future, aligns with our goal of establishing Delhi as a prominent international hub,” added Mr. Wilson.
Air India A321neo in Service
The first A321neo VT-RTD was earlier destined for the Russian Joint Stock Company Smartavia Airlines. Further, it was painted to new Air India livery after 12 days and spotted in Hamburg for the first time in Feb 2023.
According to Flight Radar 24, the Air India A321neo VT-RTD flight AI1863 took off from Delhi Airport (DEL) at 5:59 PM IST. After being airborne for two hours and seven minutes and covering a distance of 1135 KM, it landed at Mumbai Airport (BOM) at 8:06 PM IST.
Air India has scheduled the A321neo aircraft for high-capacity routes. Subsequently, connecting the Metro cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc.
The seating arrangement of the A321neo consists of 12 seats in the Business class, organized in 3 rows with a 2-2 configuration. Further 180 seats in the Economy class, distributed across 30 rows with a 3-3 configuration.
